It was 5 years ago now when I met Sambo in my local pub in little old Lewes. I didn’t know at the time that this kiwi would turn my life upside down, in a good way. Since then we have traveled around Europe and enjoyed London life before deciding to give New Zealand a go…I haven’t looked back since. Not only did I fall in love with Sam, I fell in love with New Zealand too. We are truely blessed with our good friends and supportive families, we are so ready and excited to enter into this new chapter together. We hope this website gives you all the info you need, just get in touch with us if you have any questions. xx

Until We Get Married

Hi team – well, you already know a lot about me. As you know, Ellie and I first met when we were both ‘living the dream’ in Lewes and London. Next year, I get to marry the ultimate ‘Elbow’! We both cant wait to spend this awesome day with you lot. Its going to be an amazing day/week/month with all of you. Ellie is putting in the hard yards now so you can all have the best time!!! Keep checking this site and blog for updates where we will keep you posted on how the day will flow. Cheers, Sam

If you are considering an overnight stay on Rakino it is good to know that you would need to be well prepared, well equipped and completely self sufficient. There are no shops or facilities and mains power and water is run by solar power or generators. The island has a limited public ferry service, with only two or three sailings per week (weather dependent) You will need to bring your own water and food supplies, organise your own transport and be prepared for compost toilets and limited access to hairdryers and straighteners!

We are chartering a ferry from Auckland city which will return all guests back to the city safely by approx 10pm the same day. We do ask that as part of your RSVP you pre pay for the ferry journey $50 (approx 25 pounds). Please note this is the only way to and from the Venue’s private jetty which has no public access. There will be ONE ferry there and ONE ferry back!

Wishing Well

We are so grateful to have our family and friends celebrate our wedding with us in Auckland, New Zealand and we fully appreciate that most of you have traveled from overseas, and as such, your presence is our present!
We ask you not to bring a gift, instead we have chosen a wedding wishing well where we can receive your best wishes and if you insist a small contribution towards our dream honeymoon.

Venue Information

We are so excited to have booked Hurakia Lodge which is a luxurious, secluded venue on Rakino Island for our special day, Hurakia has it’s own private jetty, we will be scheduling your very own private ferry charter to get you all there and back on the day. The villa boasts spectacular 360 degree sea views of the Hauraki Gulf and tranquil surroundings.

Please RSVP by 1st October 2015 so that we can pre book the ferry charter and most importantly so we know how much food (and wine!) to order! Ferry charter – When you RSVP please do transfer $50 for your return ferry ticket, we are chartering an awesome ferry to get all you lovely people to…
